When in New York

Be sure and take the High Line!

My apologies for my long absence...

It's been quite a summer!

Starting with our son graduating in June,

and then moving to Manhattan on July 1st.

We came for a visit later in the month hoping he would be settled in an apartment...

Boy were we wrong!

It's no easy feat to find a place in Manhattan!

But he and his roommate finally scored a place in the Financial District at 45 Wall Street which is perfect for them.

He was fortunate to be able to stay with his roommate's family in Montclair, New Jersey for over a month until they were able to move into their apartment.

And we were fortunate to be invited over to meet them and have dinner in their beautiful home.

It was a treat to see the lovely city of Montclair.

It was absolutely idyllic!

I wish I had taken pictures of all the amazing homes to show you.

We brought my Mom with us.

She hadn't been to NY for 50 years!

I really wanted her to share in this experience and be able to picture Chris in his new life.

She was like a kid and so excited to be back in
The Big Apple!

I was really proud of her as it is not easy to be a tourist and walk everywhere in the middle of summer with the stifling humidity!

Some days it was hard to breathe!

But she never complained.

I'm so happy we were able to bring her as I'll never forget her childlike awe.

It was a great trip full of wonderful memories.

I must admit I was ready to go home at the end of our weeks stay.

I missed our own beautiful City by the Bay!

And our oh so cool climate!

But I left my heart in Manhattan!

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer.

I hope to be back to regular blogging as I miss the camaraderie of blogland!

Thanks for hanging in there with me!

I promise I'll be back soon :)

Enjoy the rest of the pictures from
The High Line.
