I hope you all had a Happy Easter.
We were fortunate to have our son home over Spring Break.
He came home to decompress from a stressful winter quarter which involved a lot of prep and a series of intense interviews both in LA and SF for a summer analyst position at an investment bank.
What began as an opportunity in San Francisco has morphed into a summer internship in NYC.
Needless to say, he is thrilled to be going to NY where he will be sure to come away with the experience of a lifetime!
It was the icing on the cake to have him home to celebrate his Dad's birthday.
On Saturday night, we took him to dinner in San Francisco, scoring a table with a prime view of The Bay Lights.
Unfortunately we had to bid him good-bye after Easter Mass and send him on his way which is always tough on the both on us. We decided to head over to my mom's house to take a walk around her classic Alameda neighborhood which is where we stumbled upon our "Easter Surprise".
As we were rounding the corner we ran across some neighbors who were doing some spring cleaning in their front yard.
I know this couple well...
I went to school with Debra and her husband, Doug, is our dentist!
Our timing couldn't have been better...
they offered to show us the spectacular display of wisteria that was in full bloom in their backyard!
And now I get to share it with you!
Debra told us that their wisteria has been featured in Sunset Magazine.
I can certainly see why!
It was misty with a light drizzle while we were there.
I was able to snap some gorgeous photos with my iphone.
As you can see, I couldn't get enough of the show!
She took us out in front of the garage where she pointed out that the wisteria overhead was a rare double variety that was being studied at UC Berkeley.
I didn't know how talented this duo was...
They don't have a gardener, they do everything themselves!
Dr. Mitchell even did all the iron work you see supporting all of this gorgeous wisteria!
I hope you enjoyed seeing this stunning display as much as we did...
Thank you Doug and Debra for sharing your yard!

Congrats to your son. What a great honor, and how exciting to be interning in NYC!!! As for the wisterias: absolutely beautiful. What specimens!!! Unfortunately our wisteria is a big mess. I'm a bit overwhelmed with it.
Cheers,
Loi
Wow. New York. That's pretty far away. Are you going to be okay with that? I know you are so proud, though!
My wisteria needs a place to grow. Hopefully we will have our pergola installed before it grows too big! This one is stunning. Just stunning!
