Christmas Cards

To me Christmas cards are keepsakes.

Something I've done since our son was in grade school has been to save all the photos I've received from friends & family during the holidays and put them into little albums marked with the year.

This card marked the milestone of taking our one and only off to college with Grandma in tow and returning home as empty nesters!

This album holds 3 years worth!

I've found many of my little photo albums at places like Ross and Old Navy.

It was pretty rare back then to find Christmas themed ones but I think the idea has caught on and they are not as hard to find.

Now is actually a great time to pick up a few.

I just completed one and am in the market for a new one for next season.

I specifically remember finding this one a few seasons ago at Old Navy and picked up several to give as gifts to friends to encourage them to start the same tradition.

My friend, Mary Ann over at Classic Casual Home, just did a post today using red binder rings to organize her Christmas cards & photos which I think is absolutely brilliant as so many cards are different sizes.

I especially love how she chose to display them over the holiday season.

I found this small Victorian easel at a flea market a while back not realizing at first how perfect it would be to hold and display my Christmas cards as they arrived each day.

As you can see, there is a flap at the top that opens to reveal storage.

A new card can be highlighted each day and then tucked away to make room for new arrivals.

It makes it fun and easy for family and guests to enjoy!

The box that contains my Christmas card albums is always the first box we unpack as I look forward to taking this trip down memory lane every Christmas.

I have to admit though that this year I'm thinking of sending an eCard.

I came across this one, starring my son and his fraternity brothers, on his facebook page and haven't been able to stop laughing!

I might just have to order the DVD for this year's album!

You are so smart. i always wanted and MEANT to save all our past Christmas cards but sadly did not:( I am bummed about that as I too really treasure them, but thankfully my mom has! I love your collection and way of displaying them. Hope you are enjoying the magic of the season!

That is a great idea! Someone gave me a Christmas photo album with our name on it, which is such a great gift idea. Might have to do a post on that! :)

I don't have everyone from the beginning of our cards, but I usually have the photos and now I save our cards. What a fun thing to open each Christmas with my boys, as they look back on how young they used to look.

That video card was the mariachis!!!
Merry Merry, Terri!

Hey thanks, Terri, for showing my cards on a ring. I found the rings at Office Depot. I love the idea of highlighting cards on a pretty easel like yours! Last year, my friend gave us cards over the last 15 years of our family that I had been sending fun to see them all again. That e-card is hysterical!!!

Hey Terri, your Christmas card
photo albums are great. Christopher's jibjab card is hilarious! Looks like you are going to have a wonderful family Christmas.

That easel is very chic, shame it's designed to get covered up by its contents!
