A Bespoke Treasure

A friend of mine recently came across this amazing set of 8 renderings from a custom men's clothing shop.

I think they are absolutely incredible!

I could stare at them forever...

for they transport me to a simpler more genteel time and place.

Don't you love how even while vacationing these gentlemen dressed?

My how things have changed!

Can you guess the time period?

Thankfully the season and the year are printed on the back...

Regretfully the fabric samples have all been removed.

Just think they are 2 years shy of 100 years old!

A beautiful piece of history!!!

I see them framed and displayed in a gentleman's closet. They are a great size too, measuring approx. 22" high x 16" wide.

You know I love them!
I guessed early 1900s :)
So dapper. I just love a man in a hat - not a baseball cap but a real hat. The walking sticks are fun too. I like the peek of the woman we get as well, so lovely with her parasol.
Great find!

They are smart but they certainly don't look comfortable Terri - those collars! Love the tailoring though.

Terri,
Wow, these are beautiful. Wouldn't it be nice if men dressed anywhere close to that now? A lot of them can't be bothered!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yes, let me know if you get down to Los Gatos. Lots of fun places to have lunch too! I am enjoying reading all your past posts. You have a great eye!

These are fabulous and look at the detail on the clothing...shame the fabric samples are gone. But you still have those amazing color prints.

Terri, these are wonderful and I definitely think they should be framed. Perfect for a man's dressing room or closet. I guessed they were probably early 1900's. Great find!

What a treasure! I especially love the ones of the men in tuxedos. What an elegant era that was. And, the men looked so dapper.

Have a wonderful weekend, darling!!!!

Dear Terri
These are wonderful. A beautiful time and I still believe every man looks better in a suit. It seems men also act more mannerly when suited than when casual.

A great post.
