Spring Shopping = Bargains Galore!

Whenever I start to see those TV commercials showing the new crop of spring dresses, shoes and handbags arriving at TJ Maxx, Ross, and Marshalls, I make a point to check it out and am always glad I did.

It never fails that I come away with some great new items and at bargain prices!

Like this crisp navy shirt dress by Laundry that is super slimming!

It is ruched at the bust along the buttoned placket which is very flattering.

And the fabric drapes in such a way as to make you look taller, especially if you are wearing 4" heels like I do!

I also found this gorgeous LBD by
MARC NEW YORK.

And I thought he only made leather jackets, who knew?

The cut out on the front is so chic and looks amazing on! You can skip the necklace on this number.

I don't know if you can tell but there is the most beautiful fine pleating on the top half of the front and back and the fabric is very fine and delicate with the most gorgeous but subtle sheen.

Quite a bargain for an investment piece that will never go out of style. The challenge will be keeping my weight stable!

At TJ Maxx I found this dress by Kenneth Cole.

It is a basic dress packed with a lot of style!

Love the fabric, color, and the mix and varied scale of the snakeskin, and of course the fabulous shot of coral at the neck and hemline.  Even the cap sleeves are flattering!  It looks super chic with a pair of black peep toe pumps and my black Balenciaga motorcycle handbag.

The price was more than I wanted to spend but I think I will get a lot of use from this dress.  To start, I plan to wear it on Easter.

 Moving on to Marshalls...

where it's all about the shoes!

One of the things I love about shopping in these stores is discovering a brand that is new to me. My new crush is Kanna.

I have so many shoes that when I buy a new pair, which isn't often believe it or not, they must not only look good but must fit the following requirements... high but comfy enough to wear every day, ALL DAY.

At the ripe old age of 53, I need my foot to be as evenly elevated as possible, meaning they must be platforms where I feel like although I'm taller I feel like I'm in flats.

These definitely fit the bill!

I couldn't decide so I bought both.
Which pair do you like better?

A quick spin around the store yielded a several month supply of Caldrea hand soap...

and a bar of this delicious smelling soap packaged in this great Union Jack box.

A nice change of pace from the usual Dove bar!

Just as I was making my way to the registers I spied a pair of amazing bamboo directors chairs which I couldn't resist bringing home at just $29 each!

I almost forgot I also found a couple of fun hostess gifts which are always good to have on hand!

They are hanging lanterns.

Another bargain at only $5.99 each!

When you shop in these stores you have to get it while you can... bargains like these don't last and it's all about timing!

What have you scored lately?

Get your motor running

One of the things I saw the other day poking around my favorite haunts was this collection of old wheels.

Yesterday I picked up the latest issue of Flea Market Style and came across this article featuring several DIY projects using rusty, crusty old wheels!

Pretty amazing what you can do with old wheels, isn't it?

Poking around

It's been awhile since I've been to some of my favorite treasure hunting spots...

Totem Man in need of a nose job

An old oak ice box with the most fabulous painted green interior!

 Hula Hoops

A killer candidate for a bar cart makeover!

Incredible doors and bookcases from a Buddhist Monastery

 A sleek modern coffee table

A trunk on a very interesting stand

I'm so attracted to the color green lately which drew me over to this antique turntable.

Too bad this large antler was broken.

 I think this is Napoleon.
I love him!
I'm not sure if he is for sale though...

This one just goes to prove you never know what you'll find at these places!

A great old canteen

 And last but not least...

this pair of huge AMAZING pinecone frames or trays, I'm not exactly sure what they are but I am quite sure of what they will become...

A fabulous pair of mirrors!
