I Love Monograms

Any monogram...

And so of course I was smitten when I came across this set of seafood forks with "THE FAMILY" monogrammed on them!

I'm curious, have you ever come across this type of monogram on silverware before?

I think it's wonderful!

Don't you?

What is the most unusual monogram you've come across?

Very cool, it looks like Hotel silver. Maybe it is a name of a restarqunt? Either way it is perfect for the upcoming Holidays!! Love it, Kathysue

FAN-TASTIC. I must admit...I'm a liiiiitle jealous that you get to go to so many consignment stores, estate sales & 'treasure shops'. The good taste gene was obviously handed down, from generation to generation in your family. You have the most wonderful finds :) xx Jenelle

I believe they are from "The Family", an Italian Restaurant in Forest Hills, New York. Fabulous find!

I liked that answer about the restaurant! I thought they looked like hotel silver. Some of my silverplate spoons have "Tillie" or "Lizzie" or something like ASW to SWY on the back of the handle. I love monograms and try to buy them when I can on silver. Especially my own. I am a purist when having my own in the house however. I only monogram the towels and my stationary. sp? My husband doesn't monogram his shirts because we think it's pretentious. We have been known to monogram the inside of a wallet however. But since Mark Cross is out of business, that won't happen again. I just love odd things. Goes with my personality I guess. Ann
