I took this photo a few weeks ago while out treasure hunting with one of my partners.
I must admit that I'm looking forward to being a "Shop Girl" though one of the perils of running a shop is being tempted the whole day through by certain treasures that keep calling out your name.
The day my partner, Tom, put out this wonderful old french wire 3 tiered stand I was impressed. I loved the way it looked atop the mighty industrial table I found that was used in the new movie about Hemingway and his first wife, "Hemingway & Gellhorn", that was shot here in the Bay Area.
I did my best to simply admire it and was successful for several days until my friend Lisa popped in with a friend and noticed it. She picked it up and announced, "this is good, reaally good!"
Well, that was all it took for me to figure out a reason why I needed it. That evening when I arrived home the reason was sitting right on my counter!
It was definitely time for an upgrade, my number one rationalization, after all my husband had been complaining that our current 3 tiered stand was too big and taking up way too much room on the counter and so...
My first purchase from
has found the perfect home!

Oh no, you might be in trouble here T but I completely understand. One of the hardest parts of having my shops is not keeping everything :)
Love your kitchen!
I like it, too! And I love the big pooch at the counter!!

Janie
The dog picture is a riot! He is really cute! Like the new tiered stand. Like your old one too! Can't believe you scored a table used in a movie! Awesome. It is the 50th Anniversary of Hemingway's passing. Mariel and her awesome daughter are on the cover of T&C this month. xoxo
I love it and I also love your old one. Both are fantastic and the precious dog is wonderful. Hugs, Marty
Oh dear Terri! Is this a good start to business?! :) If everytime a girlfriend likes something you step in to buy it, your husband will stop you going to the shop!!
Have fun!

It is so tempting when you are working the shop. (I work one day a month at Scout Living where we sell). The shop looks great!! A little birdie told me that you might be up this way for Mes Amis? We would love to see you. Terry
Love the wire stand! LOVE it...and your old one is pretty nice too!

That puppy is fabulous and the three tiered stand is wonderful. Hmm, you are going to have a hard time giving up things you find for the shop, that's the difficult part of having a store. My folks were educators but also had an antique store and we would always end up with things they just couldn't part with. Good luck with that! XO
That would be my problem, Terri. I'd never be able to resist all of the pretties!! But you couldn't leave it in the shop - you had the perfect spot!!
I would be my own best customer but that could be a problem and certainly not the samrtest way to do business..haha but I would have fun and it would all be a labor of love and in the end thats what counts, that we love what we do!
Love both the old and new three tiered stand...stunning, you have a wonderful eye!
I, too, love both stands!! I had the same problem at the last place I worked, I had to restrain myself from not using my whole paycheck there:):) BEST of luck in the new shop!!!!!!!! XO, Pinky
