Last week while out treasure hunting my Mom found this amazing treasure!
She's always loved Christmas carolers & religious statues but I never expected her to find something as amazing as Italian Opera singers!
She looked up, way up, and sitting on a shelf high above her head there they were...
even the young man working there that day confessed he hadn't noticed them before.
Excitedly she dragged me over to take a look.
I gasped...
"They are awesome" I pronounced.
"You scored a real treasure!"
Thankfully the names were there for me to look up otherwise I would have never known they were characters from Italian plays and operas.
I don't know anything else about them yet...
All I know is that they are very old and dusty and need a good cleaning. We just had to share this special, one of a kind treasure with you!
Have you ever seen anything like this?

What a fun find! xx
Oh wow! They ARE amazing!! What a fabulous find!
No I've never seen anything quite like them. I did find a trio of homemade paper mache puppets featuring Katharine Hepburn, Paul Henreid and Douglas Fairbanks Jr that I adore. I thought they were really cool..... great folk art... but your moms opera singers are even cooler yet *winks* Love them! Vanna
Are you kidding me?!!! I'm pinching myself. This is marvelous. What a find. Good for your Mom! What an eye, huh?

What a special treasure. I love that you know they are Italian Opera figures!
And a big hurrah for Suzanne's Shabby Apple win!

What a score! They appear to be a little naive...probably made for a project or display of some kind. I am betting they are one of a kind!
Leave it to that remarkable mother of yours. What a score indeed, one for the personal record book. I think they are enchanting Terri and wouldn't be great to know their 'story'. One of a kind like your MOM!
Hope all is great this week? Just got word that Emily got a 4.0 her freshman year at college. A day to celebrate!!!
Sending love,
Deb
