Let's Talk Shoes

Specifically how to store them.
The other day while snooping around my one of my favorite haunts I spied this very tall old metal file cabinet.

All I could think of was how it could hold 40 pairs of shoes!  I had visions of taking it to Maaco or Miracle Auto Body and having it painted a fabulous color in a high gloss finish.
Wouldn't it be amazing in a loft space?

I've been thinking a lot about how to store shoes beautifully and efficiently lately and it's paid off.
I'm a believer in what you focus on expands and just a few days after seeing this old file cabinet, I returned to the same place and this time found what I think might be the perfect solution for my shoes!

Stay tuned...

That is very interesting to think about repurposing a file cabinet for a shoe storage unit. Cool idea actually. Can't wait to see what you do!

WHAT!!!! You can't leave me hanging !!! I need to know. Actually I have been spying the shoe boxes at the container store and they are on sale right now, they have a door that opens in the front kind of like a garage door so the shoes can just slide out. That way I don't have to move 5 boxes to get to the one on the bottom of the stack. I can not wait, but I guess I have too, to see what you are going to use!!!xo Kathysue

Terri,
That's a powerful thought -- whatever you focus on will expand. So, I'm going to embrace that. And, oh yes.....I think you've found an amazng solution for your shoe collection! :)

What a great idea for this thing. I think I have seen things like this in the old Post Office when I was a child -- my father worked there.

This is really clever, whatever it takes..as long as they are kept neatly and protected, right? This is a briliiant idea I look forward to seeing what you come up with! For most women there will never be enough room for "the shoes"
