A Rainy Day Treasure Hunt

yielded some wonderful finds today...

A two handled porcelain tea cup by Coalport in the pattern Cairo which I promptly filled with coral, and  a fabulous vintage 1960's crystal decanter that looks straight off Julianne Moore's stunning bar in the movie, The Single Man, with Colin Firth.

I also found a gorgeous shell, a cut crystal lavender perfume bottle with it's stopper and the sweetest set of vintage postcards of Lake Tahoe in the 1940's.

The best part is the recorded memory by what seems to be a young girl from a wonderful outing on Emerald Bay one glorious day back in the summer of 1945.

Absolutely precious!

A true treasure...

I also found an ironstone platter,

and 4 vintage black & white photos

of  Mission San Carlos, The Monastery,

Midway Pt. on 17 Mile Drive

and the Pebble Beach Golf Course, which hold special meaning for me as I lived in Carmel for several years during High School.

But what really surprised me was finding this extraordinary french marquetry dresser.

 I didn't expect that!

Gotta love the thrill of the hunt...
and today was quite a thrill!

That dresser is fantastic. It matches my dining room table--same inlaid marquetry. I hope you bought it! Those decanters are great too. Loved seeing the old Tahoe cards and photos.
Also, I got a kick out of your Mom's Oscar party! She is just beautiful Terri!

These are some of my favorites lately - and as soon as I saw the decanter, I had the exact same association!! And too bad you don't live closer - I would definitely take that dresser off your hands!!
