Jux.ta.po.si.tion Home

I discovered Jux.ta.po.si.tion Home on my last visit to the Newport Coast and couldn't wait to come back!

It is located on the Pacific Coast Highway across from Crystal Cove State Park Beach.

This time  I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Michele Graham, who is as delightful as her shop!

She gave me "carte blanche" in allowing me to show you around her seriously amazing store.

You know I have seen and shown you a lot of great stores but this one has to be at the top of my list!

It has the perfect mix of fabulous...
both vintage & new.

I love these soy candles in re-purposed coffee cans!

The displays and vignettes are mesmerizing.

Can you tell I love it here?

I love how she incorporated this vintage door.

I thought of my friend Donna of A Perfect Gray when I came upon these mannequins. Donna, this one's for you!

I'm loving this slip covered headboard and see this easily done with any number of styles from MoreHeadboards.com

Michele has curated a wonderful & diverse selection of art at Jux.ta.po.si.tion.

I'm still lusting over the collection of framed vintage nautical flags she has hanging around the shop.

Of course she carries a great selection of 2 of my favorite things...

Sea Bags & French Sailor Stripes!

Jux.ta.po.si.tion has an incredible selection of pillows and fabrics to choose from.  I purchased some gorgeous greige linen fabric here on my last visit and used it to make a skirt beneath my kitchen sink.

There's always an amazing selection of books!
You're probably wondering what, if anything I bought.

My heart wanted a framed nautical flag but my pocket book prevailed and I left with 3 priceless treasures...

Three books..

1. IGNORE EVERYBODY
And 39 Other Keys to Creativity
 Hugh MacLeod
of gapingvoid.com

2. IT'S NOT HOW GOOD YOU ARE, IT'S HOW GOOD YOU WANT TO BE

3. WHATEVER YOU THINK
THINK THE OPPOSITE

Both by PAUL ARDEN

I read, IGNORE EVERYBODY, on the ride home and LOVED IT.

There is no end to the eye candy at Jux.ta.po.si.tion Home.

If you are fortunate to find yourself on the Newport Coast one day...

don't forget to stop by and say hello to Michele

and spend some time taking in all that is
Jux.ta.po.si.tion Home.

Oh, and be sure to tell her I said HI!

Terri,

I have been to Juxtaposition Home twice in the last couple years, I can't go to Newport without going there! Thanks for posting the pictures... It is my favorite store ever!

Did you by chance pay a visit to Roger's Gardens in Corona del Mar? It's so beautiful there this time of year.

Major wow!!!

Wish I were there and most of all shopping with you lady "T"

I am so inspired to make the candles in vintage cans, that wire basket would be going home with me for sure, I would maybe have to adopt a realive or two painted on the unframed canvas'.

You make me want to shop girl and put down the paint brushes for a bit :)

See you soon, sorry I have taken so long to drop by, I have been catching up with things around here.

all I can say is, WoW. WoW. WoW. I am smitten. I think the vintage portraits are my absolute favorites. To have a quirky collection like that would send me over the moon. THEN, I saw those three dress forms arranged almost exactly like mine! I can't tell you how broad my smile was when I saw that and then your nice shout out!

Thanks terri for that fantastic treat! love that place. just why do I live on the opposite coast!?

Possibly my newest favorite place! I'm always drawn to vintage oil portraits so you pretty much had me hooked at the very start. I'm on the hunt for one of those mannequins as well. How inspirational that shop is!

That door incorporation - swoon.

That's the best design shop ever. So clever and inspiring. Love that the space is utilized in so may different ways. It reminds me of when Banana Republic first opened. The sense that the items were from someones travels.

This is so awesome. don't know how I missed this post. They usually do not let you take photos as they believe people copy their designs. You obviously have a winning personality. I have bought lots of things here...it's nice it is so close to where I live. Your photos are gorgeous.
