For my friend Reichel of Copy Cat Chic!
Her friend Courtney found this charming Tea & Polo Shoppe for her equestrian loving friend to celebrate the big occasion.
She arrived early and set up the tables with flowers she arranged in vintage tea tins
We played Guess The Date,
while we drank Mimosa's and introduced ourselves.
We took our seats and were served a delicious light lunch along with several pots of fragrant teas.
We could smell the fresh baked scones which were served with clotted cream, lemon curd, and jam.
Soon it was time to open the gifts.
Reichel used to work at Pottery Barn. You might recognize the pink & white boxes from Pottery Barn Kids.
Reichel was wearing this ribbon during the shower. Isn't it darling?
Here's her friend Irena indulging in a cupcake after eating the scones! She's pregnant too!
I think I was the oldest one there! Several of her girlfriends were from college at UCSB. She is the first one among them to have a baby!
These gals had to leave a bit early to drive back to Southern California. They had been staying with Reichel all weekend celebrating.
I got Reichel this set of vintage china.
I'd never seen a set with so many pieces!
I took a photo to show you before I wrapped it.
I'm so excited for Reichel... did I mention she's having a girl? They are going to name her Arden!

The china is perfect Terri - it looks more like a personal set than a teaset to me - what a lovely idea!
What a pretty party! I love the sophisticated vibe, proving everything doesnt' have to be baby blue and pepto bismol pink! That inviation is sooo pretty also, very different and elegant. Love it!
I am new to blogging have a 3 week old blog....its about the home we are building and my love for good design and decor. Please take a look if you can....

Oh my goodness it is all so delightful. The tea house, the invitations (LOVE them), the set up, the women (her maternity outfit is super), the name Arden is fantastic and that vintage china set, heart be still what an amazing gift. Would have been my favorite present and I don't even know what the rest were :)
What a super lovely event! How sweet that she was pampered with an afternoon tea with her friends...especially, since once you become a mother getting pampered and sitting to enjoy the tea doesn't happen often!
What a clever fete....I might have to hijack certain aspects of it someday! Have a great weekend...k
I love baby showers...each one is so unique and special and this one definitely was, too! I love your gift to her. It's something she will treasure forever!

Jane
Such a clever and lovely party. I love the name Arden -- I had a high school with that name, and it's always been a favorite. So pretty and unique. XO

Awww Terri! Thanks for posting about the shower! There's no pictures of you though! It was such a fun day. I'm still waiting on the pics from the photographer too :) And your tea set was so inspired, you have a 6th sense. Love you!
There is so much goodness in this post Terri. Loved of course the tartan tablecloths and equestrian theme. Perfect for Reichel! And your gift of vintage china is perfect. Loved her momentos too of horseshoes. This looks like such a wonderful shower. Arden is going to love her new world!
Love the party. The scones. The mimosas! And how sweet are you with that vintage china? I love the name Arden. I can tell she's going to have a very sweet start in life.

What a simply adorable party - from the invitation, to the table settings to the food! And your gift is over the top charming - I'm sure she loved it.
What a charming afternoon this was - baby showers are totally unknown here in France, but I think it's a lovely tradition. She must have been thrilled with the china you gave her.
