It's so exciting to re-think and re-organize!
Are any of you currently in this mode?

Terri, I am lusting after that little fish bottle opener, and all things fishy. Did you see the page on vintage fish serving flatware in Coastal Living? I wish they had had close-ups!
it's funny, I am in this mode but in a completely different way. Recently becoming engaged, the process of registering is about to begin which is exciting. My problem is I have been collecting vintage plates and bowls, and silverware, etc... that I love so much but I feel like I should register for the new. What to do, what to do!!
In my mind I am feeling this way, my body just won't get on board. I get the urge every time the seasons change. Perhaps when I can actually wear a sweater I will do some more purging. Love the silverware, especially the unique pieces in the last image, fantastic.
Totally, but you definitely have more than me. I like that you are also replacing your working utensils as well. I'm going to the Hillsborough Antique show today, so you have inspired me to be on the lookout for all of the above!
Terri, this looks wonderful and You know how much I love Hotel silver. Yes, I am in the mode of re-organizing and you know all about that subject. I am onto the linen closet where I store all my pretties, Oh my!!!! Kathysue
Ahhh, so beautiful! Our new kitchen goes under construction next week and I can't wait to organize my cabinets and cookbook shelves, my new pantry and all the new drawers. (Does that make me a loser?)
HOORAY!!! I'm able to leave comments, again : ) Love all of your new silverware. You certainly know all the best places to find it, too! I do go through these phases, too. Right now I'm honing in on Christmas gifts. This year I want to be done with that early so I can enjoy all of the other pleasures of the season! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. xx Suzanne
Yes I am in that mode. I went a little crazy at auctions and on ebay. I have sold lots of this, but I have over 1000 pieces of silverplate flatware left. I bought a set for everyday for myself and started a pattern for my daughter. My favorite are the really old patterns with different flowers on them. I also like the art deco patterns. I am moving out the stainless steel for good. Do you only collect the hotel silverware, or do you like the at home patterns also? I am jealous that you have two Tastevins. I am a sommelier but have never used one. Ann
I also love old hotel silver,I have bought few here and there and it doesn't matter if everyone sitting at the table has different flatware. Makes it just more interesting.
My latest treasures are Royal Hotel Deauville knives I bought at a fleamarket in Paris.
I have a lot of that wonderful pearl-handled silverware and even more of the brilliant fish knives and forks, like I think the top commenter said was in Coastal Living. Will have to go look for the magazine. I am in the process of deaccessioning in preparation for a move, so check out my Etsy site for the silver.
What beautiful reorganization! I, too, am in "get rid of it" mode! I may have nothing left to sit on or place a glass, but right now, all I know is what I don't want. I'm still trying to figure out what I do want. Hmmm, maybe some hotel silver?
I am a passionate treasure huntress addicted to "the thrill of the hunt." I pride myself on finding unique items and have spent a lifetime collecting unusual and interesting "treasures" which I have used in decorating our home. I shop with an eye for design and look for pieces that I like to call the "jewelry" of the room. Those pieces that have been around accumulating energy thereby bringing life into a space by telling its story or evoking a memory. The allure is found in the details of its journey... condition, provenance and patina. Our collected "treasures" tell the story of who we are. Billy Baldwin said it best, "Decorating is never successful unless it is personal." My treasures are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop and on my companion blog, Shop La Dolfina. The links can be accessed from my sidebar.
"All of life is about energy. It's about the energy that you're putting out; energy that you're drawing to yourself, every day, based on the way you think about your life & the actions that you take. Everybody is an energy field. And because of your attitude, your thinking, your actions; who you choose to be in the world, forms your own field. You are drawing into your field people who are like you... to remind you, to show you, to reflect back to you- who you are. Believe that or not, that is what is happening all the time... and it does not require your belief. It just is. It. Just. Is." -Oprah

I agree with Tricia Rose. Your pics are wonderful. Happy weekend!

We have been unknowingly preparing for a this cluttered house episode. I think a huge dumpster and a bulldozer should do the trick.

I am so in this mode, but I just wish I had half of that beautiful hotel silver! lovely...
Green with envy over the whole hotel silver organizing thing you have going on over there...wow!
LOL! Love your way of thinking! I make an effort to have nothing "new' in my home! Gotta be vintage...with a story on how it was acquired.
