Terri, I'm just catching up as my mom left this morning for Dallas. WOW -- you have posted such great inspiration. I love anything Carolyn touches and this article is definitely worth keeping in the files! So glad you brought it out.
Now, if only my house could look like that!!! Happy Holidays!!! (Sorry about that iphone!)
Christmas in Aspen...now that alone is quite a great blessing...not to mention a cozy little home in ski country to call her own. Fabulous images! I love Aspen and this post brought a smile to my face.
Hi Terri, Love Carolyne Roehm, I have not seen this book. I am convinced everything she touches turns to elegant even in a rustic setting. Can't wait to see what you do with your pinecones!! xo kathysue
*** The "Lady C.R." is "M*Y IDOL"~~~ her superlative taste & very personal sense of stunning, natural style is sooo incredibly warm, sincere and utterly charming.
HER home... THIS home... EXEMPLIFIES what "I die for..." (smiles) in the design world, as well as a way of life lived naturally, appreciating every opportunity to bring the outdoors in...
Our ski place in Park City was my first chance at heading in this direction, & I immediately fell in love...instantly... hard... and continue to love & incorporate parts of this "style" in our desert home here in AZ...
... and while my husband is certainly no design/decorating "nut", he DOES appreciate the finer things in life that THIS particular approach provides... I can also see touches of a very fave store called "GORSUCH"~~~ when in CO I would enter, & my husband would give me his gentle "OK, go ahead & jusr enjoy, honey!" smile... (and that always makes life SOOOO NICE!)... He's always loved every and any THING I do/did/purchased/found~~~ and I've always felt so lucky because he is so sweeet n' generous & has a great appreciation of the "natural"...
Thank you, T, for SUUUUUCH a FAB presentation for us this early, first day of December!!!
Warmest blessings n' happy holidays! Linda in AZ * bellesmom1234@comcast.net
I am a passionate treasure huntress addicted to "the thrill of the hunt." I pride myself on finding unique items and have spent a lifetime collecting unusual and interesting "treasures" which I have used in decorating our home. I shop with an eye for design and look for pieces that I like to call the "jewelry" of the room. Those pieces that have been around accumulating energy thereby bringing life into a space by telling its story or evoking a memory. The allure is found in the details of its journey... condition, provenance and patina. Our collected "treasures" tell the story of who we are. Billy Baldwin said it best, "Decorating is never successful unless it is personal." My treasures are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop and on my companion blog, Shop La Dolfina. The links can be accessed from my sidebar.
"All of life is about energy. It's about the energy that you're putting out; energy that you're drawing to yourself, every day, based on the way you think about your life & the actions that you take. Everybody is an energy field. And because of your attitude, your thinking, your actions; who you choose to be in the world, forms your own field. You are drawing into your field people who are like you... to remind you, to show you, to reflect back to you- who you are. Believe that or not, that is what is happening all the time... and it does not require your belief. It just is. It. Just. Is." -Oprah

I thought I loved antlers, but these people take it to a whole new level!! :)
Love the table decor - the colours and styling is amazing. What a lovely article.
Loving the cat also. Have one just like it, only with bigger and rounder eyes.
Happy mid week to you!
