Terri, I just saw the comment you left me on my "What I've learned" post- Thank you so much! Btw, I've been wanting to do something fun with the wood floor in my entry way for a while now. A couple of these photos have been in my inspiration folder! I just haven't been able to decide or devote the time to it!! ;)
I could do some but not all. I don't like things to be too busy. The one with the floor AND the ceiling done would drive me nuts but the clean more simple ones are quite lovely to me.
I've always loved painted floors. My current place has brazilian cherry so I likely wouldn't be doing any painting but hopefully my next place will have floors needing a facelift and any one of these would be perfect! :)
Those are some beauties! You could so easily do the wood plank floor, (Blond-wood image) with the the back-room all white. I totally can picture that at your house. Same long hallway!
What beautiful examples. And what a creative way to liven up a space. My favorites are the turquoise bathroom floor and the herringbone pattern "wood" next to it - gorgeous. Kat
The black and white chevron patterns are great! I don't know where I would do this though. I wonder if a bathroom would be too small. Maybe I will start with a rug first. Gorgeous pictures!
OMG YES! I love almost every single one, and remember that black and white stripe from the house in Round Top. Beautiful rooms as well, thanks for posting!
I am a passionate treasure huntress addicted to "the thrill of the hunt." I pride myself on finding unique items and have spent a lifetime collecting unusual and interesting "treasures" which I have used in decorating our home. I shop with an eye for design and look for pieces that I like to call the "jewelry" of the room. Those pieces that have been around accumulating energy thereby bringing life into a space by telling its story or evoking a memory. The allure is found in the details of its journey... condition, provenance and patina. Our collected "treasures" tell the story of who we are. Billy Baldwin said it best, "Decorating is never successful unless it is personal." My treasures are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop and on my companion blog, Shop La Dolfina. The links can be accessed from my sidebar.
"All of life is about energy. It's about the energy that you're putting out; energy that you're drawing to yourself, every day, based on the way you think about your life & the actions that you take. Everybody is an energy field. And because of your attitude, your thinking, your actions; who you choose to be in the world, forms your own field. You are drawing into your field people who are like you... to remind you, to show you, to reflect back to you- who you are. Believe that or not, that is what is happening all the time... and it does not require your belief. It just is. It. Just. Is." -Oprah

Really liking the wide planks and the ones with the compass on them.

I'm floored!!! What creative takes on the basic ole floor. I think my hardwoods are feeling a twinge of envy!

These are amazing! It makes me want to get out my paintbrush and stencils right now! XX!

Love those floors but I'm a low keyed sort of gal so that compass would do it for me...love it! Love that second image it's a killer!
All of the floors are dazzling. It would be almost impossible to choose a favorite. From casual to elegant...all are magnificent.

I could just lick that black and white floor in the last photo -- well, almost! All great floors and one lovely ceiling (pink and white).
