Good Morning! The dust was overtaking us, and we had NO fresh veggies in our frig, so we opted to stay home and go to the Belmont Farmer's market and vaccum our little apartment. Then I made a big bowl of fresh guacamole and cheered on our Giants!
I rarely skip the Alameda Flea Market, but did yesterday to watch football and our Giants!! Thank you for showing me the treasures from your point of view...I have always done the same thing on my blog and it's fun to see what everyone else "sees" from the lens of their camera... cheers!
I did I did! I went to the Brooklyn Flea Market last week and I think the Alameda looks like it might be better (for me). I am wondering if you left that mannequin with the shell dress there? It seems like it was made for you! I would have snatched up that bag of marble boulders for $12 in a heartbeat. Will try to get my BFM photos up for tomorrow.
OMG! I can't catch my breath! I want the lady head planter thing, the pink headboard, the glass flowers and so much more. I must find a flea market soon!
Beautiful photo's Terri and you keep getting better at capturing some fantastic shots of people's wares! Let's get together soon for tea or coffee.. xoxo
oh my - Susan from Blooming Rose Musings sent me over - and now I see why! Wow - these are amazing treasures. Not sure what I like the best...I love the screen, the giant clam - (love those clams)...the bottle with the coral on it, the shutters...and the animal prints - to name a few things...I am going to go back through the post and look again. Amazing stuff!!
What fun treasures! Did you find anything for yourself? That shell dress is amazing...at first I thought it was part of the form but on second look it seems to be a dress. You would be a hit at your son's parents weekend if you decide to wear that!!! You have an eye to show us the perfect assortment and make it fun. I have to drive up to this flea sometime soon. I'm so looking forward to us getting together sometime when you are down this way. Sending you many hugs.
That shell dress form is wild. Maybe I should dress up the one in very poor shape with that idea. I've never seen a turtle shell chair. Like the big dome server thingy. My favorites are the outdoor iron chess set and well test tubes with a cool metal rack would be nice.
you are NOT kidding about that turtle shell chair! i have NEVER seen anything like that. how unique! and those pointy shoes are creepy. and interesting. I thought our platform heels are uncomfortable, can you imagine wearing those? are they mens? i am so curious about them.
I am a passionate treasure huntress addicted to "the thrill of the hunt." I pride myself on finding unique items and have spent a lifetime collecting unusual and interesting "treasures" which I have used in decorating our home. I shop with an eye for design and look for pieces that I like to call the "jewelry" of the room. Those pieces that have been around accumulating energy thereby bringing life into a space by telling its story or evoking a memory. The allure is found in the details of its journey... condition, provenance and patina. Our collected "treasures" tell the story of who we are. Billy Baldwin said it best, "Decorating is never successful unless it is personal." My treasures are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop and on my companion blog, Shop La Dolfina. The links can be accessed from my sidebar.
"All of life is about energy. It's about the energy that you're putting out; energy that you're drawing to yourself, every day, based on the way you think about your life & the actions that you take. Everybody is an energy field. And because of your attitude, your thinking, your actions; who you choose to be in the world, forms your own field. You are drawing into your field people who are like you... to remind you, to show you, to reflect back to you- who you are. Believe that or not, that is what is happening all the time... and it does not require your belief. It just is. It. Just. Is." -Oprah
