There was only one word to describe
Game 1 of The World Series...
U N B E L I E V A B L E !
I still can't believe I was there!
Fans were lined up early to get a chance to peer through the "knot hole".
McCovey Cove was electric!
It was one big party!
(I didn't notice until I uploaded this image the name of the boat, Lazy Dolphin!)
McCovey Cove, named after Hall of Famer Willie "Stretch" McCovey, is where left-handed power hitters hit the ball out of the park to get what's called a splash hit home run.
And then it's a race to retrieve the prized momento!
Giddy fans!
We took a lap around the ballpark before taking our seats. The energy was palpable.
Standing room only Sky Bar
Fans getting provisions.
Too cute for words!
We had amazing seats behind the visitors dugout.
Turned out we were also adjacent to a section of Texas Ranger fans.
The opening ceremony was very emotional for me as they introduced Juan Marishal, Gaylord Perry and Willie McCovey who I grew up watching as a kid! Every Christmas our parents would surprise us with opening day tickets and these guys were some of the greats we loved!
After the introductions & National Anthem there were fireworks and a fly over!
I had chills!
You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening!
We were one big happy family of Giants fans collectively in the moment...
After the 5th inning it was all but impossible to stop dancing and waving our pom poms!
And at the end of it all, I couldn't help myself...
I just had to snap this photo of the group of Ranger fans sitting next to us.
I want to thank my husband's amazing boss for surprising us with tickets to the first game of The World Series and for the memory of a lifetime!
Game 2 tonight!
GO GIANTS!
