A Mixed Bag

Before heading off to the Cal vs CU Game yesterday...

California Memorial Stadium opened in 1923 and currently seats 71,799 fans, making it northern California's largest football stadium in terms of seating capacity.  The stadium was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on Nov. 27, 2006.

The Bears will play next season at Pac Bell Park in San Francisco while Memorial Stadium is undergoing a massive $321 million Retrofit and Renovation

Thanks to my brother who got us tickets in the Alumni section

 on the 50 yard line

we had a great vantage point to see our beloved Buffalo's get chewed up and spit out of The Bears mighty jaws.

It all started out so hopeful as we high-fived our fellow Buffs who arrived by the thousands to witness a preview of the future of a Pac 10 rivalry.

It turned out to be a very painful day for Buff fans.

I managed to squeeze in a great estate sale, so the day wasn't a total loss.

If you see something you're interested in email me.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

What sweet, salty treasures! Love the boat in the bottle and the abalone lamps(is that what they are)? Would have loved to see the house.

Amazing how you know where the cool things are.
Fabulous binoculars...could not resist the little primitive ship in a bottle could you.

Those binoculars and the ship in a bottle - do I have to duel with Beach House Living?!

MY,MY,
what a weekend. I haven't seen the little blue bottle"Evening in paris Purfume" for 60 years, that was the first purfume I bought when I was about 13 yrs old. Fun seeing it again.

I'm sorry your team didnt win. We sat through a nailbiter with our All Blacks on Saturday night too, and they managed to come out with a 1 point ahead win. Phew!
Great treasures. I love the simple tin with all the old pegs.

Sad news about your team but what great scores you got at the sale. I was thinking you seem to find so many shell items and I hardly ever see any when I'm out but then I realized, you live in CA and I'm in the AZ desert - probably the reason.

Looked like a really
beautiful day and I
bet you had fun despite
the outcome! And, what
can I say about your
keen eye at estate sales
that I haven't before?
You ROCK 'em!

Two weird shell lamps? I would love to see more pictures of those. Is that really a scarab? That should clean up nicely. Did you see Velvet and Linen's post of her Mom's house? Some of the things reminded me of you.
