When my Mom and I are on a treasure hunt we tend to go off in search of what we love, which is why I always find her at the jewelry counter.
It can be pretty competitive at some estate sales and I'm usually in a zone scanning for treasures while my Mom sweetly tries to show me things she thinks I'll like. But inevitably she'll make her way to the jewelry where I'll find her camped out at the end of the sale.
I asked her to come over and show me, piece by piece, what she scored at the last sale...
The cool thing about my Mom is that she really will wear all this stuff,
and she looks amazing in whatever she puts on!
Like a true gypsy...
she can pile it on!
She tells me she feels naked without it.
Even though we are alike in so many ways...
I'm a "plain Jane" when it comes to jewelry,
which is probably why I, along with so many others, admire the way my Mom adorns herself with her "treasures".
I've encouraged her to start a little business selling her bejeweled finds...
but so far no luck.
Maybe you all could talk her into it!
She has a lot!
Remember this post?
I found her 2 great display cases so she could sell with me.
But like a true treasure hunter, she's attached.
It's hard to let go of things you love.
That's the journey I'm on right now...
learning to let go.
It helps when you have a goal like helping to finance your son's college education.
It's very motivating and rewarding.
"Do what you love and you will never work another day in your life." I'm finding that to be very true!

Well you know I'm now in love with your mother and I want all of her finds for my shop! What an eye - fabulous finds at ridiculous prices. I did a post about jewelry today as well - funny. Seriously I want all these pieces. all. of. them.
I'd love to see her all doll-ed up!!!
what fun, just the two of you
The faux pearl "flower" shaped pin is to die for! When I wear these types of things, I pin them over multiple strands of real pearls... yummm. She wouldn't want to sell that little pin????
Lovely things...lovely mom !! ...lovely post !!!....lovely evening......hugs from me Ria.....
Cutest post ever. I love my mom like you do.

she is precious! and she has some great finds there! Now I'm thinking of all those folks who buy 'costume' jewelry at yard sales then take it to Antiques Roadshow and find that it's worth hundreds! Fingers crossed! But I know she loves it whether it's worth one or one hundred dollars...
This is gorgeous Terri, what a blessing that you and your mom can share this "hunting" passion! I love the glass flower pin..tell her I will be her first customer if she wants to take that first step... xoxo Colette
Oh, she is so darn cute I want to hug her! Your Mom needs a little Etsy shop! How great she has you to go out with! xo
Cute post!
What great finds...and I love the quote! So perfect:)
She has two prospective customers already...Colette and Pamela have selected items. Will she sell?
Your mom nabbed herself some pretty chic finds! And she looks so cute in her little polka dot pants, I just want to squeeze her! :)
Your mom is adorable! She found some fab treasures. How lucky you are to have a mom who shares your passion for treasure hunting. You definitely got her genes!
she really has some good stuff going on over there... i would wear some of those pieces too!
Mom sure enjoys wearing her treasures. She looks in complete bliss!
Your mom is so cute. You are so fortunate that you and your mom can go treasure hunting together. I can see from your photos that she
is having a great time. Just so cute!
I love the thought of you and your mum going on a treasure hunt - what fun! Also, that copper stool is divine!
I'm sure your mum looks fantastic wearing pretty jewellery like this. I've always admired people who have just the right bracelet or necklace to fit each occasion and outfit. My grandmother was like that, and my 15 year old daughter too - unfortunately I didn't get that gene!
Happy Birthday to you dear Terri! I hope you're having a great day and that your men will be spoiling you rotten!
Love
Sharon
First off..'happy birthday Terri'!! I was so pleased to discover you & my dear mum-in-law share the same birthday. Good people were born on this day. 2nd, may I please adopt your mother? We have so much in common. My mom would of been looking through the jewelry too. She loved wearing it & would say she too would feel naked with out a piece or three on. But like you, I'm just the opposite. I encourage your mother to team up with her incredible daughter & share her fabulous finds with us all. I loved your quote of doing what you love. It's my dream.
Thanks for sharing your mom with us. How wonderful that you go on your hunts together. It is really special. I'm going to cry now....
Ok..just have yourself a fabulous birthDAY!!
xo xo hugs
What lovely finds! I've been meaning to introduce myself --- my name is Katie and I just moved to Alameda a few weeks ago. Eddie Ross told me you were in the area and I just ADORE your blog. Anyway, I'll be following for course and look forward to getting to know you!
xx Katie
This was such a sweet post!! Your Mom is beautiful!! Also I couldn't agree more with how hard it is to learn to let go of your Treasures!! If she does decide to sell, there were a few pieces i'd love to add to my collection!! ;)
I'll take the crystal screwback earrings! And good luck sending your son off. It's going to be a little difficult for awhile. You may have to do some extra shopping with your mom! And Happay Birthday!
I want that yellow topaz pin, it's my birthstone color, November. Then I will buy every other piece. Love the necklaces.
Janice
