That's exactly my approach to how i style my home. I fall in love with items from so many different styles, but they all work together. Also, thanks for the link love:-). xx

I am a passionate treasure huntress addicted to "the thrill of the hunt." I pride myself on finding unique items and have spent a lifetime collecting unusual and interesting "treasures" which I have used in decorating our home. I shop with an eye for design and look for pieces that I like to call the "jewelry" of the room. Those pieces that have been around accumulating energy thereby bringing life into a space by telling its story or evoking a memory. The allure is found in the details of its journey... condition, provenance and patina. Our collected "treasures" tell the story of who we are. Billy Baldwin said it best, "Decorating is never successful unless it is personal." My treasures are available for purchase in my Etsy Shop and on my companion blog, Shop La Dolfina. The links can be accessed from my sidebar.
"All of life is about energy. It's about the energy that you're putting out; energy that you're drawing to yourself, every day, based on the way you think about your life & the actions that you take. Everybody is an energy field. And because of your attitude, your thinking, your actions; who you choose to be in the world, forms your own field. You are drawing into your field people who are like you... to remind you, to show you, to reflect back to you- who you are. Believe that or not, that is what is happening all the time... and it does not require your belief. It just is. It. Just. Is." -Oprah

Excellent advice, Terri. Your home is testament to this!

Well...that is some unique chandelier! Beautiful room. Such sense of history.
I have never ever seen a boat chandelier before. Amazing. Definitely a room with character.

Is that the Nina, the Pinta or the Santa Maria chandelier? The room is beautiful and it's interesting because nothing really matches.
I first saw that ship Chandelier in Miami 1978
I wanted it then and I still want it.My taste
doesn't seem to change.

I could not agree more. I have never understood "buying something to fill a space". Find the something and it will have a space!
Yes, love it. Love the color combinations...the orange chair...the crazy portrait.

Ok. I love the orange chair! The Papa Bear, I think. If you come across one of those at an estate sale, grab it fast and find me!
Great room - love that chair and I've always wanted a quirky portrait over my mantel xo
