Tom Palumbo (1921–2008) was an American photographer and theatre director. He was born in Molfetta Italy in 1921. His family moved when he was about 12 years old to New York City. As a young man Palumbo was employed first building scale models for ships in an engineering company. Later he was employed as an assistant by photographer James Abbe.  His experience working with Abbe led him to commercial work in fashion photography. His early campaign work for Peck & Peck Department Store appeared in Vogue and Bazaar magazines from 1949 to 1953.  He was a staff photographer of Vogue from 1959 until 1962 and at Harper's Bazaar from 1953 until 1959.

Happy Sunday Terri ~ sounds oh so sappy but for some strange reason photos like that make me happy. So fun to see & fantasize being one of those great ladies. Boy would I love to wear that suit in the second photo. Still so stylish today. I hope your weekend was a good one? Your son must be leaving for college in the next few weeks? Emily got moved into her dorm today..seems so surreal. Thinking of you & sending a big hug. xoxo deb

These photos are great! love the fashions and gracefulness in each of these - they'd look great as a collection framed on a wall :)

Everything is so classic and stylish. He captured images so wonderfully and they stand the test of time just like the fashions in them.

Gorgeous. I wish they did more black and white nowadays. I couldn't even pick a favorite of these, they are all wonderful. I think the woman in the 2nd one kind of looks like a young Lauren Bacall.
