Maison d'Etre

There are so many wonderful shops in my "neighborhood"

but Maison d'Etre has always remained one of my favorites.

The shop owner, Fred, has THE most amazing eye.

But what caught my eye, froze me in my tracks and took my breath away was this...

mermaid

with La Dolfina under her arm!

My heart is still pounding.

Thank you for taking us shopping in your neighborhood. Oui, the mermaid would make me smile everyday, especially with La Dolphina!

Uh, you need that mermaid Terri! Thanks for the tour. What caught my eye was the alabaster lamp. Also, love the faux bamboo hall tree.

You must have her! The tad bit of blue paint still on the tail is great. She must have been terribly expensive to still be lounging in that store and what a charming store it is. I like the artwork I see in the backgrounds. Can't say I loved that odd chair though...

I LOVE that store, and go there quite often. I really, really want that little tray(with the humming bird, wearing a little jacket) that is in the picture with your mermaid. I have been wanting it forever.

I can see why; it's full of nick nacks and delightful little things. That 'K' is amazing!

Talk about a WOW Factor!!! Spectacular shop.
It is so funny because one of the pictures I'm going to post soon is a mermaid from an antique shop...and as soon as I saw her I thought of your La Dolfina blog! It was my first reaction! And spending time on your blog tonight I thought of Vignette Design as soon as I saw that sweet alabaster lamp. Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of this spectacular shop. I have to ask...did the mermaid make her way to your house? Gotta ask!

Thank you all for your comments and your wish that the beautiful mermaid swam home with me but alas, she was out of my reach... who knows maybe one day if Fred ever tires of her, perhaps we can strike a deal or do a trade. Believe me, if I could afford her I wouldn't have left without her. At least I have these photos to love :)
