Estate Sale Saturday

I know it's going to be a good weekend when I get an email on Friday from Sam & Mary announcing they are having another estate sale!

Can you see why I look forward to seeing them?
Aren't they adorable?

Their sales bring me to some of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the East Bay.

This weekend was no exception.

It was a rather small sale contained to just a few rooms but we managed to find a few treasures.

I love treasure hunting with my best friends...

Here are my Mom and Mary tallying up our treasures.

Back in Alameda, we cruised town looking for garage sales.

I stopped to take a photo of this memorial that is tucked into a rock wall in a center divide in one of Alameda's Gold Coast neighborhoods.  My Mom who has lived here over 70 years had never noticed it before!

This pooch was patiently waiting for his owners to return with their garage sale scores.  His owner built this unique vehicle which I see occasionally  tooling around town.

I scored these vintage spit bamboo fishing rods from the 1920's.

The best find of the weekend though was this new eatery that just opened in town.

I think my husband's expression says it all!

It really is that good!!!!
We're going back today for the crispy hot dog!

Your mother is adorable! There was a great looking estate sale here but I passed - too far to drive. I hit an auction which is always fun. Will post my finds later - that wagon car is interesting.
Any restaurant with Fruity Pebbles rice pudding is worth trying out for sure!

Hi Janet,
You and I are cut from the same cloth :)
That clam shell encrusted in that rock is part of the memorial. I wish there was a date when it was dedicated but I know it's been there for many, many years. It's so cool, isn't it? How can we do that?
Hmmmmm?

My goodness, I am so jealous. They sold all their good dishes and that silver? I love that card table. If I lived near you and that shell stuck in the rock, I would buy a doll and dress her up like a mermaid and leave it in the shell. I want one of those big wagons for my dogs. How about some more pic tures of that? Those fishing rods! Ralph Kyloe I think, the man that writes all the cabin books uses those to frame pictures. Ann

Way cool shell in the wall. Now if only my dogs would sit so nicely. You would just fall over when I try to take their photos especially at holiday. Funny, everyone seems to like the out takes better then the one good more posed photo I may get if I'm lucky.
