Meet Marty...
He sold me his Prize Striped Bass at his garage sale a few weekends ago!
He said he was caught in the San Francisco Bay.
I was so excited I could hardly contain myself!
I got a really late start that particular Saturday morning and really didn't think I was going to score anything good.
Marty told me there were plenty of guys who had been interested but their wives had said, "No Way".
I looked over at my husband with a big smile and said,
"See how lucky you are?"
We named him "Marty".
*This is our garage which we've dubbed "Manlantis"

Oh, what fun! Marty is fabulous, but I have to say, so are your pillows! Are they from Anthro?
A real fish, oh my..., I think I would have been one of those nay-sayer wives, haha!!
Terri, Only you could make a mounted fish look chic!!! Kathysue
Thats one good lookin' fish, and Marty ain't bad either, lol
Love the octopus pillow!!!
Hey MS. "T"
What a fish to love. Yes you are a rare one to love. I am sure the other wives would be so jealous if they could see the coastal out come to your fish find and the pottery barn look you gave it with an up scale look to the room.
Love those pillows, My fav is the octopus pillow...If I were doing a beach house getaway home I would be on the hunt for that pillow.
Is this room a part of your home, or a bungalow out back? where ever it is, it is divine!!!
About our chance meeting in LA. UCLA let me know we may be out of town at the beach house of my sisters, yet still may be able to meet up :)
Hannah is having oral surgery this week and I know I will be nurse maid this week. She has to have 4 wisdom teeth pulled that are laying on there side, pooooor thing:(
So I will stay in touch and see what your up to.
xx

Can't say I'm feelin' the love for Marty but that octopus pillow is quite cute!
Terri, do you know if they eat the fish inside before stuffing the skin? Because I can't bear the thought of all that deliciousness going to waste!
I am planning to catch my first fish ever for my birthday - there's a fishing boat that leaves from our marina, and at the end of the summer I'll be on it (and I'll just eat anything I catch, not stuff it!)
Maybe I'll mount the spine...
Ahh !!! LOVE it ! Awesome wife and impeccable taste all rolled into one !!! See you Sunday ??
I think it looks fabulous!! Why does your garage look nicer than my actual house?? Lol! ; )
Rachel
Now that's a real catch:) :) heehee!!!
Marty is wonderful, but Honey, where you hung him is even better, that window seat, the pillows, the lanterns, really perfect.
Manlantis is an incredible place & Marty is looking good in his new home! Your husband is indeed a lucky man. xo
Hello, sweetest friend!
Thank you for this post.
I'm smiling, and I needed
this NOW : ) What a lovely
room you and MARTY have
created!! And a BIG thank
you for your kind comment
on P&H about my friend
Kathleen's journey with
cancer....the surgery is
tomorrow....Your words
meant so much to both of
us ~ she's read every one!
I am off track as far as
my fixture is concerned,
but I haven't forgotten.
Big hugs, Terri!
xx Suzanne
I think it works with that pillow. It's a really big Bass. Great shoping.

Manlantis looks A-mazing! Lucky man indeed, Mr. Dolfina! I have a giant blue marlin in my "office" that I caught at auction and I love it. Love Marty as well, what a catch!
Perfect addition to my FAVORITE garage ever!!! ;)
I love your stories! Also love that you named him!!
Have an amazing week!!
xoxo

Well, normally I would say...Yikes! But somehow you have made it look fabulous! How did you do that!?! Your pillows and lanterns are perfect.
Good to know Marty has a home.
That is hilarious. Love a gal with wit as much as I love a room with wit! And Marty sure makes for a witty room. I just noticed, you have the ikat on your cushion that I'm using for drapes. I was so excited about it until I saw the Calico Corners catalogue. There they were, french pleat panels in MY fabric. And here I thought I was being so bold. Oh well. I'm still doing it.
Funny one. Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog last friday. Hugs. Simone xx
I love McMarty! He looks smart there.

"Manlantis" - that is a hoot. I think it's hysterical that there were no wives who would let their hubbies buy that. Just goes to show, if you have a great design eye (and you do!) there is a place for everything :) Kat
Thanks for the pillow details on my blog, Terri! I loved to see where they were from! I'm totally addicted to them as well - opps!! xo
I never thought I would want a stuffed fish until I saw yours! How about giving us more pictures of the the garage. I would also like to know what the blue and brown fabric on the left is. Waiting desperately for more things for sale on the other web site.
Hi Ann,
Thanks so much for your kind comment! I wanted to let you know that if you are local, in or near the SF Bay Area, I'd love to have you over to see my treasures in person anytime!! If you go to The Alameda Point, that would be the perfect time to hook up as I live in Alameda!
I promise as soon as I get back from vacation I'll start posting treasures like crazy :)
you have a man who goes "sale-ing" WITH you ...???
lucky girl ....
I'm mad about marty!!
Marty is great and you have the perfect spot for him! Your man is one lucky guy but I guess you're one lucky gal too since he shares in your garage sale-ing! The perfect match! xx
You got a fish? You got a fish? Yes you got a fish. I don't believe it. I'm one of those that would have said no thanks dear. Okay, there was small it fell off the wall and nose broke...
A fish?
What I meant to say was there was a small marlin type looking one at the office it fell off the wall the nose broke.
See I was just so shocked you got a wall fish.
Marty is gorgeous! The other wifes must have had a heat stroke!
Helle:))
