Mannequin Love

I've always called my Mom a gypsy...

because she loves jewelry.

She's known to pile it on.

It's who she is, it fits her personality!

She's got great style and has amassed quite a collection over the years.

She bought this amazing vintage mannequin years ago for an attic room she converted into a closet.

But it wasn't until this weekend that she got the idea to use her to display all of her wonderful pins & brooches!

I think she quite enjoys her new bejeweled friend.

Just had a computer glitch, not sure if my comment went through. Love your mother's whimsical touch to her home! I like to wear brooches with a very simple outfit...it completes the ensemble.

As for my post today and your comment. Our guest bath also has the toilet quite close to the shower. You actually trick the eye into thinking there is more space in the bath with the curved shower curtain rod...it adds another dimension to the room. It is high enough that noone bumps their head on it and it is very practical. Or you could hang closer to the ceiling for a very dramatic look...it's stunning, but then you have to make your shower curtain to go from ceiling to floor (it's actually very inexpensive and is a big bang for your buck.) Just a thought.

Enjoy your week!

Now we know where you get your inspiration genes, dear La D! Love it that she knows what she likes and is proud to put it on display. I also love it when collections ARE on display and not squirreled away in a drawer, box or closet. Fun
stuff! xx Suzanne

Fabulous! I would imagine this is the Summer look. What a great collection of pins she has and that hat. Just love that hat!

That is truly something else - and practical too, since she can see it all at a glance!

I put all my earrings down the edge of my white linen curtains, beside my dressing table, same deal - i can see them!

So fab I can hardly take it! Haven't checked in forever, but I thought of you in California as I bought a gardenia topiary for my deck. Summer is the only time Indiana is awesome. Lots of love, Kitty

Terri this is so perfect, Love it and I know how fabulous her closet is so I can totally see Ms manequin in there. I think my Mom has a couple of the same brooches as your Mom. My Mom just collects she never wears her stuff but will spend hours going through it and admiring it, too funny,Kathysue

Love your Mom's mannequin! Very chic! I bought me one this year for my sewing room. She is a bit hippy and the prom dress is just a bit too tight, but her jewelry looks magnificent too!

Hi Therese
What a great and clever idea, no more stabbing your fingers on brooch pins as you hunt through a box, this must look fantastic!
Tried to send you a couple of emails and they are returned each time - really sorry! Your ribbon is on it's way, may even have arrived by now.
Have a great weekend
Sharon
