Rescue me, Please!

What do you think?

I wasn't sure what to think at first...

all I knew was that I was oddly attracted to it.  Upon closer inspection it became clear that someone had attempted to strip it.  It has the funkiest finish I've ever seen.  I tried but I couldn't walk away from it.  It pleaded to come home with me with the promise that it would be very good!

So I trusted my gut and bought it.

I gave it a real good cleaning and brought it inside where it's waiting to find it's new home.

My Mom arrived for Mother's Day Dinner with a dozen home-grown roses which I promptly put into a vase and placed on my newest acquisition.

I'm pretty sure it will find it's place down the hall past this...

and into my son's room.

I think this might be the perfect spot.

In this corner of sorts.

Of course some things will have to go and others moved around a bit, but what do you think?

Your son's room is so nautical cool..., and your new piece..., at first glance I thought it had a nautical chart design on it..., I guess I see what I want to see, haha.

It is going to be wonderful - love the strange little cupboardy door, and the keyplates. It looks a little, um, dirty though! Will you have to boil it?

It looks like it has a bonnet door. I like the mirror on it too. Are you going to re-do it?

You HAD ME from the very first shot of that wonderful blue piece. I'm a sucker for blue furniture.... don't know what it is..... it just sweeps me into its arms! This could work in so many places and I think it will be great where you suggested. Please show us, again, when it is in its new place of honor! xx P&H

In my family, my daughters often say,
"Mom doesn't say no to anything."
Anytime anyone says ,"Would you want?" I instantly say YES.
So, the point is-
I love it and yes you were right to follow your gut.

I love it...great find and I think it will look perfect in that corner of your son's room! By the way, how does your son feel about your finds & ideas for his room...is he the sort of amiable kid that could care less or does he have a particular opinion about what goes where. The reason I ask is that I am currently working with my son (16) on his room...and he has opinions!!! I wanted to bring in this awesome old beat up army trunk (NO WAY...too spooky), I wanted to bring in old beat up license plates (still debating); an old mirror (Nope to feminine). I did grab some cool antique lanterns and a few vintagey signs but boy oh boy this kid is hard to please! I do have an old danish modern sofa in the basement that (with approval) I will recover and bring up into his room! I'll try to get some pics up when I get more progress...anyway, now that I've written this novel. What I really wanted to say is that I love the decor of your sons room! xoxo Beth
