The Contessa's Boudoir

la camera da letto

(Click twice to enlarge any image for closer detail)

Have you ever seen a cage used for shoes?

I think it's fabulous!

The Contessa really does wear theatrical costumes!

And she pulls it off brilliantly I might add.  This is the hat she wore to The Bouquet to Art where she won Best Hat.

Her Italian husband laid these brick floors throughout the "villa".  I just love the old world appeal they lend to the rooms.

Il bagno

There is an amazing story behind this fabulous sink...

while living outside Florence, the Contessa found this ancient vessel lying by the side of the road.  They had it shipped back to the states and the Italian husband fashioned it into a working sink!  It is truly spectacular in person.  A true treasure and a piece of Florentine history!

The villa of never ending vignettes!

l'armadio

When the Contessa met her Italian husband they were both working for Gucci at the time.

He arranged to have a pair of one of a kind custom shoes designed just for her!   She wore them on their wedding day!

They've been living happily ever after in the beautiful villa they created together.

I hope you've enjoyed this peek into their amazing world as much as I did.  I'd like to thank the Contessa and her Italian husband for allowing me full access to their amazing and eclectic home and letting me share it with all my friends in blogland.

So happy to have found your blog...we painted our bedroom walls that same vibrant yellow. We weren't sure it would work, but when the sun streams in, it's like Tuscany.

I could get lost in the photos, but the studio awaits.....
