Chateau Sonoma

Chateau Sonoma's
 8th Annual
French Flea Market

French Importers from around the Bay Area set up an authentic Brocante in the garden court of Chateau Sonoma with an abundance of treasures last weekend.  My husband and I were invited by friends to spend the weekend with them in their breathtakingly beautiful new home on 9 acres surrounded by vineyards.

The view

The drive

The main house

The future "man cave" or "wolf den"

will have this great ceiling,

and outdoor fireplace.  Perfect for cigars & sauternes.

The courtyard off the entry

The hot tub

Stairs to the pool

It wasn't quite pool weather yet, unfortunately it was still pretty chilly.

Views of the bocce ball court below

The wine bar which is housed in a beautiful antique armoire.

A record of good times... one cork at a time!

The charming guest room where we slept like babies!

The master bedroom...

complete with telescope to take in the spectacular Sonoma Valley views.

And finally our lovely friends and hosts, Phil & Debbie.

Tomorrow lots more photos from the Brocante!

Nine acres? How wonderful to have that much land and to have it surrounded by a vineyard sounds like perfection.

Ooooh I can't wait to see more. I noticed another wicker chest, It is haunting you. You should have gotten that one at the White E. You keep taking pictures of them. Someday, someday!! Kathysue

This looks like the best time! That guest room is so chic and cozy. Thinking I really need/want some antique seltzer bottles just like the ones you showed.

This is too funny, I was there! My husband and I went on Saturday!
I am working on a post about Euro-linens. I brought my camera, but didn't take very many photos!
Take Care,
Maria

What a great place.

It's funny; those French soda stream bottles were much cheaper in Sonoma than the ones I've seen Paris markets.
