French Flea Market
French Importers from around the Bay Area set up an authentic Brocante in the garden court of Chateau Sonoma with an abundance of treasures last weekend. My husband and I were invited by friends to spend the weekend with them in their breathtakingly beautiful new home on 9 acres surrounded by vineyards.
The main house
The future "man cave" or "wolf den"
will have this great ceiling,
and outdoor fireplace. Perfect for cigars & sauternes.
The courtyard off the entry
The hot tub
Stairs to the pool
It wasn't quite pool weather yet, unfortunately it was still pretty chilly.
Views of the bocce ball court below
The wine bar which is housed in a beautiful antique armoire.
A record of good times... one cork at a time!
The charming guest room where we slept like babies!
complete with telescope to take in the spectacular Sonoma Valley views.
Nine acres? How wonderful to have that much land and to have it surrounded by a vineyard sounds like perfection.
Ooooh I can't wait to see more. I noticed another wicker chest, It is haunting you. You should have gotten that one at the White E. You keep taking pictures of them. Someday, someday!! Kathysue
This looks like the best time! That guest room is so chic and cozy. Thinking I really need/want some antique seltzer bottles just like the ones you showed.
I used to collect wine corks and one day just dumped them out,, but they look great in this piece :)
The trip looks fantastic :)
Wow, I don't think I can say anymore! Except I love the basket of colorful balls, what are they bocce balls!
This is too funny, I was there! My husband and I went on Saturday!
I am working on a post about Euro-linens. I brought my camera, but didn't take very many photos!
p.s. That home looks amazing.
Wow...you lucky guest! Now thats a dream home. And I love how simple, natural, and rustic it is decorated. Its a beautiful area.
What a lovely weekend invitation - look forward to more pictures of the sale.

How fun was this!! A dream for me for sure. I have been craving REAL French Country simplicity decor. And this looks like it would have hit the spot for my appetite! Thanks for always showing us your haunts... It is like a day trip with you...even if it is a daydream:)
Look at that VIEW! and that patio! lucky you!
Oh you lucky lady you! I'll be in Sonoma for a weekend in July and hope to visit a few antique stores there. Please have a glass of vino (or two) for me!
Heaven!! What a great getaway! French antiques & a beautiul place to stay. Does it get much better? Thanks for letting me "tag along" ;) xo
The photos reminded me of a place we stayed in provence. I love, love Sonoma!! Lucky you to say in such a nice place.
My Oh My......I would love to be packed into your suitcase, Therese. You, certainly, find lovely places to go!
What a fun adventure. Looks amazing and so can't wait for pics from the brocante. Thanks for sharing and stopping by RHS.
What a great place.
It's funny; those French soda stream bottles were much cheaper in Sonoma than the ones I've seen Paris markets.
Don't think that I'd EVER want to leave those views....that yard with the fire place..... the soft and rustic interiors.... the obviously WARM welcome! I hope that you had a fabulous time, dear La D! xx P&H
