After the estate sale we made our way back down
to the picturesque town of Sausalito.
I lived in Marin County back in the 1970's with my Father after my parents divorced.
We lived in Mill Valley, which is where we headed next.
As you enter Mill Valley you drive past Mt. Tamalpias High School where I attended my freshman year.
After a lunch of jalapeno & pear flatbread and arugula salad we headed over to Summer House
Summer House actually has 2 stores in Mill Valley, not too far apart from each other...
We were greeted at the door by Lewis.
Apparently everyone in Mill Valley knows Lewis.

If you find yourself in or near Mill Valley you really should visit Summer House... it's pretty great!
I'll have to make a stop at Summer House (and bring my wallet!) next time we head up to San Francisco!
Hey huckleberry friend, the bay may be wider than a mile, but because of your posts I swear I will be crossing it in style ... one day ! *sigh* LOVE all that lighting !!! See ya Sunday Sunday Sunday !!!
Wow, I must visit these areas in the near future, they look idyllic! And it looks like they are a great place to do some shopping! I will have to leave my husband at home!
Hope you have a great weekend!
Love the wire chairs, the skinny cook sign, & Lewis! I wanted to visit Sausilito when we went to San Fran but we ran out of time. Have a great weekend. xo
terril, I think Mill Valley is going on my day trip list of places to go. I loved those shops. I spied that basket trunk end table. It reminded me of the big one at White Elep. I still think about that day and what fun it was. so much eye candy. Did you bring home any pretties? I don't thnk I could have resisted something!! xoxo Kathysue

We have a store called "Summerhouse" too that carries some industrial looking items. The true vintage pieces are for display only, too bad.

Oh I must! I just found you this week...I grew up in the Bay Area...my parents still own the home I lived in from age 2-17. My mom's favorite Aunt lived in Alameda on 8th street...we spent alot of time in that tiny lil cottage across the street from the seashore and park. I live in the suburbs of our Capitol city now. but S.F was my teenage stomping grounds...I loved to go dancing at the clubs...it will always be my Paris!
so nice to meet you La Dolfina...ox~ Fairmaiden
i left a little something for you on my blog today...come see come see. xo
There is a store with the same name near here...but not nearly half as cool as this one! Who has more fun than you and your Mom? I want that skinny cook sign AND all the white French pottery!
I love these tours you take us on, to places I've only ever heard or read about. Always makes me want to jump on a plane! I don't know if those lotus pods are silver or not, but I'm getting my silver leaf on to two I have...thank you for the inspiration..I would never have thought to do that! Enjoy the weekend in your beautiful part of the world.
Therese...Oh I wish I could come this weekend and hang out with you!!!! Gotta stay here and take care of my girls...the guys took a guy trip to Yosemite for the weekend. My oldest, Holly, and I are having some corona's with homemade pizza then we are going to watch 'It's Complicated'. I will most definetly let you know whenever I am coming your way so we could meet up. I miss the Bay Area...I do! I think it has been a year since I've been there. Have a great weekend. ox~ Kerrie

I used to live in Mill Valley too AND I also went to Tam High my freshman year. We moved to the East Bay after that and I finished up High School at Piedmont. But I'm so glad I grew up in Mill Valley, I love that place although I don't remember it being this cute growing up :)
