Something Different

"Hi All,
A little something different this week.
We are selling some beautiful furnishings at a home in Sausalito.
Tomorrow Wed. and Thurs. from 11-4.
Featuring Ralph Lauren, Kreiss, Century, Williams Sonoma, Herend, faience, wonderful art and much much more!"

This was the email I received last night from my favorite Estate Sale Company.  This was a first for me as I've never attended an estate sale in the middle of the week!   I called my partner in crime, (my Mom), and we made plans to be in Sausalito by 11:00 this morning.

We didn't quite make it by 11:00.  We got lost.

But after navigating some very tight and windy roads and taking in some of the most spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay we finally arrived at our destination.

And let me tell you... it was worth the trouble!

These stairs were off to the right of The Entry.

This sculpture greeted you at the Front Entrance.

This spectacular multi-million dollar home was all about the views!

There was an elevator to take you to the 2nd level.

That's Sam, who ran the sale, chatting with Isaac, a fellow "estate sale junkie."

The sale was contained to just several rooms on this level

Most of the items were in the loggia.

Close-up of one of the three chandeliers.

There was lots of eclectic art

and Herend figures.

A Pair of Ralph Lauren chairs.

The Dining Room

Love the ceiling!

The Kitchen

Great chandelier!

Does anyone know what this is?

That's a pool beyond the table & chairs.
The nook

Amazing set of chairs by Oscar de la Renta.

A cozy nook off the kitchen/nook for watching TV.
A pair of pillows I picked up.

The rest was roped off.

But we managed to...

poke our heads into the Living Room to try and take a photo of this gorgeous room with it's breathtaking views of The Golden Gate Bridge!

The weather was inclement today so I apologize that I wasn't able to capture the million dollar view.

We bid our good-byes to Mary (in the middle) thanking her for an amazing sale and headed back downstairs...

where someone couldn't help herself...

find out what was in that fabulous mirrored closet!

That was quite an ESTATE sale!

Love the Oscar de la Renta chairs! Were they expensive?

Around $1700. I think Mary would give you a great deal though. They have leather seats and are really beautiful in person :)

What a home! What a view!

The steel machine must be a food elevator between kitchen and dining room - a necessity of every repectable home!

I would have bought the bunnies.

Okay, I'm picking my jaw up off the floor, now! Haven't seen anything like that sale here in my little corner of the world! I would have LOVED to have had the American Flag pillow, or the chandelier, or the Herend figurines or......well, heck, I could figure out what to do with a lot of those pretty things. Fun outing! xx P&H

Those Oscar chairs would be worth the visit by themselves and then I was taken with the lime green island in the kitchen, then the view (oh my), and then wondering about the story behind this home. No wonder you love estate sales so much! As always, you mom looks gorgeous. Much love Xo

I think that is called Heaven on Earth! That house with that view is breathtaking! I'd love to know what kind of people live there! I am in love with the green island in the kitchen! And the lighting and the ceiling are just amazing! Besides the pillows do you find other treasures? I would be in Heaven to look at all those books!

How fun! Not only to see the inside of a fabulous home but also to see what the owners were selling... I would have snapped up the chandeliers and Oscar chairs!

I've never been to an estate sale like this! It was a treat to see the house, and only a small part of it at that! The house has already been sold for 8 million and the couple is moving to San Francisco. That's what is so fun about estate sales... you never know what you're going to see! My Mom and I were blown away!

What a place and with such a view. Adore the loggia. I would really like one of those.

Was the cabinet a dumb waiter by any chance?

Those views! Those chairs! They retail more than what they wanted for the set -i hope someone deserving snaps them up.

Truly one-in-a-million home. Thanks for the little tour. I would have eaten crackers for a month I'd have spent so much money. Wonderful to collect, I think. See you soon right here.
