Tail of the Yak

It's nearly impossible to describe The Tail of The Yak, except to say that is like no other shop you've ever been to.  I was thrilled that the owners allowed me to take photos to share with all of you,  so without further ado... I present to you

What an eclectic place, and with a ribbon corner too. I don't know if I could keep from opening the surprise ball.

Sighhh I love it!! I was there around the holidays and am ready for another visit. Those bulb surprise balls are to die for! I loveeee them with the Narcissus white flower or maybe it's a Paper white. Whatever it is, it's too cute. You captured some GREAT photos I felt like I was in there shopping. :-))

An interesting shop for certain, an eclectic blend of antiques, curiosities, decorations, and modernism.

So glad the proprietor let you talk pictures, they are amazing actually. I agree with Noel I felt like I was walking around the shop. but then again , I am still in awe of the pictures you took at that exhibit a few post back -- when I was in Tacoma at the Glass Museum I managed only one picture when the security guard came and said -- tish tish lady that is a no no here.
Good job,
Joanny

My kind of store! You would never get me out of there! Where to even begin.... I know that I would walk home with the bunny surprise boxes (for sure), some suzani pillow cases, a couple of antique prints and at least 1 glass conservatory. And I LOVE the Ikat fabric! Peter's (huz) and lovely wife leave in Berkeley. I will send them a link to your post. Thank you, Dear! I always feel at home here. ox Mon

Wowee Zowee! What great photos! One of my absolute favorite shops! Just don't get me near their vintage jewelry. It is so fabulous that I sometimes get in trouble.

Great post!!

This shop has the most eclectic mix of women working who all dress the part and all are artists. Some make the paper ornaments themselves. What probably couldn't be photographed is the exquisite antique jewelry from Europe- primarily France. The owners and staff are all local and have been in business nearly 30 years I want to say. One of the owners is a painter and does incredible drawings and painting's. Her name is Lauren McIntosh and if you google her, she should come up and you can see her work. At New-Years time you receive with your purchase a hand-made poster sized calender for the upcoming year. They are worth just buying something small at Christmas so you can go home with an extra treat! Thanks Terri for letting me window shop. I love the the twisted candles!
