Inspired by India... Hicks that is!

I'm obsessing over pond yachts.

They keep popping up which is fueling my obsession.

I found this gorgeous photo of pond yachts in Paris on the blog Reverie.
It was taken by Melanie's talented photographer husband, Sean Patrick McArdle.

While reading one of my favorite blogs, Starfish and Sundresses, I came across this post on India Hicks'  Hibiscus Hill Home on Harbor Island!  Right away I spied my beloved pond yacht!  I love how she placed it in front of the bookcase.

It wasn't the first time I've been completely smitten with something in India's fabulous island home.  I've coveted this image of her desk area with the shell type-setter tray for years!

A few weeks ago, I completed one of my own!
I will be hanging it soon and promise to post photos.

I guess what you focus on expands because as things go...
I just happened to be browsing One Kings Lane a few weeks ago and there it was!  It arrived last week.  I've been waiting for the right moment to ask my husband to help me assemble it.

He put it together last night...

and I took this photo this morning.

Thank you India!!

Your yacht is gorgeous! And I yet have to get my hands on one of those vintage trays -they are so perfect for shell displays.

That is a nice one. Now all you need is a tiny bottle of champagne to give her a proper christening.

To top off your obsession for pond yachts you'll have to fly to Paris to watch the little kids race their boats! I love that colorful picture. What a great new love right before summer :-)
