Project Inspired by Sherlock Holmes (the movie)

Inspiration can come from anywhere...  in this case it came from the movie Sherlock Holmes.  There were several scenes in the movie that showed the entry to Dr. Watson's London flat which had a lantern with the house number burnished onto the glass.  Well suffice it to say that I had a hard time concentrating on the rest of the movie after that.  I couldn't wait to get home to order some house numbers from Wonderful Grafitti where I remembered seeing them when I purchased my laundry definition a few months earlier.

Well... they arrived a few days ago

and we just finished putting them on.

What do you think?

Love it! I've yet to see the movie, and now I'm afraid I'll spend the whole film looking for the entry lamp. Kathy

It looks really good. I noticed that lamp as well, as Guy Ritchie held the camera a bit on it, but I have always loved letters and numbers too. Did you also notice the receptacle's that were used to light up the London streets at night? You did a really good job putting them on Terri. I like your square shaped boxwood too! Your house looks really pretty.

Ever since I saw Sherlock Holmes, I have wanted to do the same thing. Where did you get your beautiful lantern?

Hi Anon!

I'm glad I was not the only one who was fixating on that lantern! I found mine at The Restoration Hardware Outlet in Vacaville. I wish you the best of luck in finding one!!!
