We have a "love affair" with our neighbor's dog, a strikingly handsome Westhighland Terrier named "Latte". Our neighbors graciously indulge this "love affair" with their dog.
Whenever we appear at their door, they simply smile and say, "do you want Latte?"We couldn't think of a better way to start off the New Year than a wintry stroll around the Lafayette Reservoir with our favorite canine friend.
A new adventure awaits...

The view of the reservoir from the parking lot. It looks a lot colder than it really was.
Alright, let's go...

Right in step. Such a well trained dog!

These mile markers really help you go the distance. I'm so tired after one lap. I see folks much older than I take several laps around the reservoir!

How cool is this! A dog sized drinking fountain!

Have you ever seen this breed before?
His owners informed us that he was a French Shepherding Dog.

Latte was impressed, as were we!

Another mile marker. I'm feeling good.

Signs of Spring?

What's this up ahead?

Every Christmas, this particular tree gets decorated. I don't know why, but it seems to be some sort of tribute.

Possibly a shrine to beloved furry friends who have passed on but will never be forgotten.

We've never had a dog of our own, but I'm beginning to understand why they are called, "man's best friend".

A perfect spot for a winter's day picnic

Almost there...

The final leg.
One tired, but satisfied Westy!

Happy 1st day of 2010

Nice walk thanks for sharing the view. Latte is adorable; so is the plaid coat.
Hi Terri,He is a very handsome little dog. It looks as if he had a great time and you did a very good thing for you and him. I got on the treadmill today. OH MY!! trying to improve on the mobility the real exercising will have to come later. Have a great weekend. Hugs Kathysue
Terri, wanted to let you know one time and Voila the comment posted. Great Job Chris!!
I mentioned to my son today on skype that I read about a dog named Latte and we all had a good laugh as if I ever get another I would love to call it Latte. I am the latte queen and my local provider refer to it as the designer's latte(large, skim, 2 splenda steamed with the milk /140 temp/ They were even kind enough to do home deliveries when I was sick......most pathetic on my part. I do need to borrow a dog as you are, such a clever idea! Or just go get another. I will hunt the neighborhood for a borrowing candidate first as I may be too old for the training part again. Loved you New Years Post and you got us talking about Faldo who we miss terribly. More laughs as he was a character. See where your stories take people? Happy New Year ~XO
What a beautiful, foggy day. The pictures were....picturesque!! Chris and Latte do make a handsome, well- trained pair!! Lucky you! Happy New Year to ya all.
I am thinking you so deserve your own dog but this little one is just perfect for now as I think he is very lucky to have an affair with you while living with his other mommy & daddy!! Love the photos your shared. I Adore that decorated Christmas tree too! Did you see the movie Away we Go? There is a tree like that one.... so special! Have A Happy New Year Night!!
XO's
glad that Latte can be a part of your lives...I'm sure he enjoyed every minute of the walk, as well. Happy New Year and Best Wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2010!
