I'm sort of stuck on the details at the moment.
I was wondering what you all thought of this staircase with 4 different style spindles.
Is it too much detail, or is it pure genius?
I'd love to have you weigh in.

I just love the fresh interpretation of the traditional details in this front entry.
The striped doormat is painted on, and instead of just a pair of planters flanking the door, there is the unexpected placement of two sets of planters varied in size and pattern but linked in color and plantings.
I find these photos so inspirational!
I have a similar entry and can't wait to try out this look!

GM Terri, I think the first picture is pure genius, I love every detail. The entry you posted is to die for. Stripe, topiaries the windows the architectural piece above the door. The circle element on the door that repeats the round topiaries. Wonderful!!!! Kathysue
The entry is very nice from the simple details to the colors. The painted mat adds a fun extra.
I think the mixed spindle style is actually kind of novel and certainly catches some visual attention in a room that may be of simpler finish. The more I look the more I like....and the entry is fabulous, the side windows are classic and fabulous. Good inspiration!
I think the staircase is a little bit busy, but I like it. I think it works because the spindles are painted white. Sort of neutralizes it.
But that second shot, oh my, spectacular. I think that is one of the most beautiful entrances I've ever encountered! Those doors are spectacular and I love the metalwork framing out the sidelights. All of it is so inspiring!
i like the mixed staircase spindles, by theory i wouldn't, but this works! LOVE the second photo. I"ve always wanted round knobs in the middle of my front door.
And no, I haven't seen Tom Ford's new movie. Was it good, besides just the awesome decor? is it as good as Mad Men? It looks so good, i'm so movie challenged. Or should I say Theatre Challenged...
I LOVE LOVE that stairway... it show simplicity becasue of the color and style out of the box because of the spindles! It is pure genius I believe~~

I love the stairway! I know that sometimes less is more, but in this case more is so much better! And the entry is gorgeous, the painted doormat is genius. And I love the color palette, it's perfect. Great inspiration photos. Kathy
I adore the different spindles. Just makes a simple, elegant statement! Then entry way is great. I love the two topiaries. What a difference it makes! Can't wait to see you do it with the twist you will put on it!
