I must share a secret with you!
It's the most divine fried chicken and coleslaw sandwich! It compels hoards of foodies from around the Bay Area to stand in line for it day after day.  The line moves quickly though and there is a pay off for the relatively short wait...free, freshly baked cookies are doled out while you wait!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Most days you will see Betty sporting her blue wig and mingling with her devoted customers while they sit at her vintage ironing boards digging into her amazing chicken sandwich!

Scout Home Hardware

A few doors down is Scout Home Hardware, an "everything but ordinary" emporium.

The Definition of Laundry

especially since I bought this great new industrial hamper from Restoration Hardware

I love how they are bringing it back into the modern laundry room.

 It's available in 3 sizes

 

  

Thankfully the smallest size worked perfectly for us since we don't have a laundry room.

We have a laundry closet!

Another space saving find of late are the new 3-in-1 laundry sheets!

I don't know how I ever lived without them!

They go from the washer into the dryer.

 

And voila, a fresh load of laundry is ready to carry into my room to fold and put away.

We recently updated our little laundry closet.

We removed the upper cabinets and found the laundry definition at wonderfulgraffiti.com

I find the whole experience of doing the laundry so much simpler and more enjoyable now with less stuff.  We are looking forward to buying new front loading machines so we can eventually add a counter across the top to give us more flexibility for folding and ironing.

Find of the Week

Since my blog is really about my passion for treasure hunting I figured it was time to start doing a weekly post about my " Find of the  Week"

A fabulous set of 6 French " Jeu de Quilles" game pins

circa 1900

The colors are amazing...there are 3 chartreuse green and 3 deep turquoise blue, with their original paint and loads of fabulous patina!

I especially love the rusted metal detail on top!

Jeu de Quilles

A very old traditional game, bowling appeared in France in the fourteenth century.  The balls did not appear until the seventeenth century.

I think the antique pins and balls are wonderful...

 ...and can be quite decorative.

 

The French have always had a way with display...

Here a french restaurateur creates a lovely focal point... 

with an over sized "quille".
